Spinlord Dornenglanz X

Dornenglanz X: A very slow, soft, and long pimple with the pimple geometry of Dornenglanz and an extremely durable rubber compound.

The composition:

The pimple geometry (height and width of the pimples as well as the distance between them) is exactly the same as the Dornenglanz. However, the pimple heads are ribbed.

The rubber compound, on the other hand, has been completely newly developed. Its main feature is its durability. Despite the very thin pimples, the "Dornenglanz X" is our most robust long pimple. Pimple breakage is virtually impossible under normal use.

The rubber compound is also soft, elastic, and speed-reducing, making the "Dornenglanz X" one of our slowest long pimples (its speed is slightly lower than that of the "Dornenglanz III").

Playing characteristics (OX version):

The "Dornenglanz X" is a long pimple that is ideal for disruptive play at the table. Anyone looking for a long pimple with fast-breaking pimples to aggressively hit the ball is in the right place here.

Unlike the "Dornenglanz," the "Dornenglanz X" does not have a particularly high disruptive effect in passive play. You cannot simply hold the racket and score many points that way.

With the "Dornenglanz X," you can either keep the ball safely in play or go on the offensive to put pressure on the opponent and bring your stronger side into play.

If you’re under pressure yourself, chop-blocks with the "Dornenglanz X" are much more effective than passive blocks. However, passive blocks are also possible in a pinch and at least offer a short, flat trajectory.

Underspin defense is occasionally possible with the Dornenglanz X, but not as a key element of the player’s game system.

Conclusion: The "Dornenglanz X" is not a rubber for classic defenders but for offensive material players who primarily use their backhand to bring their strong forehand into play.

The Dornenglanz X is also very suitable for players who play "material" on both sides.

Playing characteristics (1.0 mm version):

Please note that the speed, disruptive effect, and control ratings apply only to the OX version, as always with long pimples. It is important to emphasize this because the 1.0 mm version is highly experimental, unusually fast, and has a strong catapult effect. The sponge is the same as the SpinLord Keiler, which speaks for itself. The bonding between the top rubber and sponge is particularly high-quality, like the Mantikor.

While the sponge version is typically better for underspin defense than the OX version, this is not the case here. The 1.0 mm version is intended for players who previously played the Keiler in 1.2 mm and want more disruptive effect at similar speeds—naturally at the cost of control. No other manufacturer offers anything similar, and this version is also very expensive to produce. Therefore, the 1.0 mm version is more of an experiment for specialists than a mass product.

The appropriate blade:

The blade should at least be an all-round blade in terms of speed, or preferably faster. Combining it with slow defensive blades (Lion Defence Pro, Lion Shield) would likely be ineffective.
